Diana Ponce Every Day Salads Los Angeles

I had the opportunity to spend 20 hours in LA. Check out what we did!

Oh, and this post is mostly pictures BTW 🙂

Here’s a lead-in to the upcoming photos. This took place on 5/31 throughout 6/1. We attended a taste testing event at BJ’s Restaurants HQ’s in Huntington Beach, CA. They were introducing their new slow roasted menu entrees and we were super happy to be invited.

Early morning Wednesday as we sit and wait for take off from Orlando, FL. (MCO)

Our flight arrived on time but our room was not ready 🙁 Our ride to the event arrives in less than an hour and we needed to get ready. We had to improvise. We made it happen by freshening up near the lobby restroom! Haha! That was pretty funny. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Every Day Salads Diana Ponce

They served slow roasted prime rib, baby back ribs, double bone-in pork chops, and other amazing sides and pairings. Everything was super delicious especially after you see and hear the love and passion put into all of it.

It was great talking to Scott Rodriguez, Head Culinary Chef over at BJ’s Restaurant HQ’s. He’s a local pittmaster himself! The night ended perfectly. We met other bloggers and influencers and we made new friends. The next day we woke up early and headed over to Venice Beach for breakfast.

Eggslut Venice Beach

I’d seen a breakfast joint by the name of Eggslut on a YouTube video and I figured we’d give it a try.

Wow. Top 3 best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. It’s called the Fairfax and it does live up to the hype.

Abstract Painter Venice Beach

The stroll around Venice Beach towards Santa Monica did not let us down. Lot’s and lot’s of things to see. Haha. LOTS. Including this dude that just so happen to paint himself “abstract” for art. Pretty cool. He told me to hurry. He had things to do……..

Peruvian Salchipapas from a hole in the wall restaurant called El Huarique. If I’m not mistaken, Huarique basically means “hole in the wall food joint” in Peru.

Nick Q and Amanda

We ended our trip by having a wonderful dinner (and dessert) thanks to Nick from Melissa’s Produce. He’s a straight up guy! Also had the privilege to meet Amanda Meixner and my friend Clark Pagaduan. Amanda if you’re reading this, thank you! Thanks for everything including the ride to the airport. So awesome to know I have amazing friends on the west coast.
